Project Description

Modern Warm Minimalist Interior Design Project

This residential interior project, located in Mirpur 11, Dhaka, was designed for a 1200 square feet apartment with an overall interior budget of approximately 13 lakh BDT. The primary goal was to create a modern, functional, and visually warm living environment that balances aesthetic quality with everyday usability.

Design Concept

The overall design theme follows a Warm Modern Minimalist approach, where simplicity is combined with comfort and functionality. The client required a clutter-free and elegant interior with sufficient storage solutions and a calm visual environment. To achieve this, a neutral color palette was paired with warm wood textures and subtle lighting elements.

Wood-textured laminate panels were widely used across major zones such as the TV unit, wardrobe, and bedroom feature walls. This consistent material usage created visual continuity throughout the apartment while maintaining a refined and modern character.

Living Room Design

The living room was planned as the central gathering space of the apartment. A custom-designed TV unit with integrated storage and vertical wooden slats became the focal  element of the space. Indirect LED lighting was installed behind the TV panel and along the ceiling cove to create a soft and comfortable ambient atmosphere.

The seating arrangement was kept minimal using neutral-toned upholstery to maintain visual clarity and openness. Decorative elements such as indoor plants and abstract wall art were introduced carefully to add texture and visual interest without creating clutter. Marble-finish floor tiles were selected to enhance brightness and make the area appear more spacious.

Bedroom Design

The bedroom layout focused on comfort, storage efficiency, and visual warmth. A full-height wardrobe system was integrated into the wall to maximize storage while maintaining a seamless appearance. The headboard wall was designed using wooden panels with built-in niches and concealed lighting, creating a refined, hotel-inspired ambience.

Soft curtain fabrics and neutral bedding materials complemented the wooden finishes, enhancing comfort and relaxation. Ceiling cove lighting provided gentle illumination, ensuring a soothing atmosphere without harsh shadows.

Material Selection

Material selection was carefully planned to maintain durability while staying within the defined budget. Key materials included high-quality laminate finishes for wardrobes and wall panels, marble-look floor tiles for brightness and easy maintenance, matte wall and ceiling paints, warm white LED lighting, and neutral-tone fabric materials.

These selections ensured long-term usability while maintaining cost efficiency.

Lighting Strategy

Lighting played a major role in shaping the overall interior character. Instead of direct lighting, concealed LED strip lights were used in ceilings, shelves, and feature panels. This technique enhanced depth, improved visual comfort, and highlighted architectural details. Warm lighting tones were selected to complement the wooden finishes and create a welcoming residential feel.

Space Planning Efficiency

Efficient space utilization was a priority for this 1200 SFT apartment. Each area was carefully planned to maximize movement space while ensuring sufficient storage capacity. Built-in storage units helped reduce clutter and improved daily functionality. Proper circulation paths between furniture ensured comfortable movement throughout the apartment.

Budget Management

Delivering a premium appearance within a 13 lakh BDT budget required strategic planning. High-impact areas such as the living room and bedroom were prioritized for detailed finishes, while cost-effective materials were applied in secondary zones. Modular planning and careful material selection helped maintain financial balance.

Project Outcome

The final outcome is a modern residential interior that reflects simplicity, warmth, and practicality. The balanced use of clean lines, wooden textures, and ambient lighting created a comfortable and visually cohesive living environment.

This Mirpur 11 project demonstrates how thoughtful planning, disciplined design, and efficient material usage can transform a standard apartment into a modern and aesthetically pleasing home within a controlled budget.
